Weather Considerations

Before you ever get to the beach, you want to get as much information about your riding location as possible; this includes the weather.

Some common sense will go a long way.  If there is inclement weather arriving within your planned riding time, don't go kiteboarding.  Any rapid change in wind conditions, cloud cover, or precipitation should be avoided.  If you see large, dark, cumulous, storm clouds nearby or approaching, consider packing up your gear to kiteboard another time.

Checking the radar or lighting strike data before heading out is a good idea.
If you are planning on doing a "down wind-er", make sure you think the wind will hold out long enough that you can finish your "down wind-er" from point your point A to point B.
