Back Rolls Print

Back Rolls

Prerequisites:
Load and pop proficiency.

Back rolls are one of the easiest wake style tricks to learn.

To the Point:
Load and pop, then look behind you, over your front shoulder like someone just fired a gun from the second story of a house behind you.

Step One:
Load and pop

Step Two:
As you release from the water, look behind you, over your front shoulder like someone just fired a gun from the second story of a house behind you.  This movement will start to spin you.

Step Three:
Tuck your legs in to accelerate your rotation, and keep looking behind you as the water comes back into your view.

Step Four:
Start to straighten your legs while bringing the board back underneath you and pointing it downwind at an angle.

Step Five:
Land flat on top of the board with it pointed downwind.

Tips:
If you throw your head up more, your back roll will be more of a roll instead of a spin.
